What is Dandarah temple?

Dandarah temple is located in a city in upper Egypt,  north of Luxor,  about 60 kms .

Dandarah temple was dedicated to the Goddess Hathor, one of the most famous Goddess in ancient Egypt,  used to take a figure of a cow or a woman with cow’s ears,  while on top of her head,  they used to define her with two cow horns and the sun disck in between the horns.

I will write more about the temple later on in another blog , you can just follow sjptours and visit my website http://www.sjptours.com and see other activities as well.

Here I want to show something I have been there for the first time in my life. As a guide I go to many places in Egypt but as you know the Egyptian history is very big and extended,  I find new places mostly each time I go.

We arranged a tour with sjptours yesterday to Dandarah temple in Quena and found a new place was just opened recently. It’s the crypt ( in this temple there are 12 of them are scattered around in the temple,  I have been in only 3 until today)

But what made it very special,  I had to go upstairs and found a very narrow entrance,  about 30 cm high and 50 cm wide,  when I crawled inside the wall ( which is about 1 meter thick) I found a long corridor where I could stand up and walked right and left sides.

It was amazing place,  I can’t describe it.

I can’t find words to describe the narrow crypt there,  ohhh , really was amazing place to walk in.

The most important thing also is that you find  all carvings which left on the walls are still the same as they did it first time, and none of them was touched by man’s hands.

I love sharing such beautiful places with you, and there are more than my descriptions you can find when you come and see it yourself.

With sjptours services, we take you back in history,  where you feel that life as it was , and you will feel the ancient life in nowadays life.

Thanks for your time reading this,  and please inform me if you like. I continue writing, just leave me a comment.

You can subscribe to my website, and soon, I will supply it with videos as well.

Thanks again, and I will send later on another short blog .
